Building block of UPEC university, ESPE of “Académie de Créteil”, is responsible for:
- primary school teachers training;
- secondary school teachers training (general education, technological education and vocational education);
- principal educational adviser training;
and takes part in long life training for teachers in primary school and secondary school.
ESPE of “Académie de Créteil” trains every year 5000 student teachers and trainees. “Académie de Créteil”, is an area of “Ile de France”, where most of classrooms are multicultural and with different mother tongues.
“Académie of Créteil” has many young teachers. A lot of new teachers are appointed every year. It’s a dynamyc area where an important training creativity is developed especially in disadvantaged areas.
One of main priority in courses of student teachers and lifelong training is “to master language in its all dimensions”. Methods and contents of teaching are regularly updated and increased by research works.
ESPE developed a close collaboration with other universities: PARIS 8, PARIS 13, University of Marne La Vallée, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, and institutional partners: «rectorat», «inspections académiques», INRP, SCEREN-CRDP).
